Tickets for this yr’s Stanly County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony can now be bought at 5 websites round Stanly County.

The ceremony, scheduled for six:30 p.m. July 17 at Merner Gymnasium on the Pfeiffer University campus, will honor 5 of the county’s most profitable athletes and coaches.

Inductees embrace:

● Al Andrew, extremely profitable and longtime boys’ basketball and baseball coach, and state champion golf coach at Albemarle High;

● T.A. McLendon, Albemarle native, record-setting working again at Albemarle High School and NC State University;

● Shanna Smith, Albemarle native, softball and basketball standout at Albemarle High, and all-ACC softball participant at NC State University;

● Greg Speight, two-time state champion softball coach at North and South Stanly excessive faculties and extremely profitable basketball coach; and

Keynote speaker for the occasion might be Wes Durham, one of many principal play-by-play voices of ACC soccer, basketball and baseball. He is the previous co-host of the ACC Network present “Packer and Durham” and former radio voice of Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Falcons. He is the son of SCSHOF member and longtime “Voice of the Tarheels,” the late Woody Durham.

Tickets to the occasion are on sale at Albemarle, Locust and Oakboro metropolis halls and parks and recreation departments, and at Starnes-Bramlett Jewelers and Uwharrie Dash in Albemarle.

Tickets are $35 upfront, and $50 on the day of the occasion.
