Jharsuguda: Hockey India president and former India captain Dilip Tirkey emphasised the unwavering dedication of the State authorities in the direction of improvement of sports activities throughout the closing ceremony of the two-day NUA-O Sports occasion in Jharsuguda district.
He cited the development of Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar and the world’s largest hockey stadium in Rourkela.
Tirkey urged the athletes to concentrate on their sporting endeavours, assuring them that success and glory would naturally comply with.
The mega sports activities extravaganza featured competitions in hockey for each women and men, cricket, soccer, kabaddi, volleyball and kho kho. Participants from three municipalities and 5 blocks of Jharsuguda showcased their athletic prowess in varied classes.
