The California Department of Technology (CDT) is recruiting for three senior technology positions, and the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking a specialist in contracts and procurement.

s seeking a principal platform engineer (IT specialist III) to serve as “the lead consultant responsible for defining the next generation of trusted enterprise computing,” according to the job posting. “Working as part of a fast-paced, agile, and innovative team, the IT Spec III works across all areas of OET’s technology stack, enabling critical state-wide services, qualifying complex compute changes, and executing new engineering solutions for the cloud.”
The principal engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of “Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment standards and methodologies” and fostering DevSecOps within CDT. The principal engineer makes recommendations to the state chief information officer and executives on platform standards and infrastructure policies, automation opportunities, compliance, as well as on current and new technology developments.

“Assignments will involve large size to enterprise projects needed for continued operation of state business processes, tight time constraints, several interfaces with existing systems, proficient experience with the technology architecture, and/or high visibility,” the job posting says. “The project manager will typically be responsible for concurrent management of multiple projects. The incumbent is intimately involved in planning processes relative to the analysis and investigation of information processing systems and may be actively involved in cost control functions as it relates to projects.”

The California DOJ is recruiting for a section manager (IT manager I) for IT contracts and procurement.
According to the job posting, the manager is “the IT procurement official for the DOJ,” responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and managing the IT Contracts & Procurement Unit (ITCPU) operations, initiatives, and all IT acquisitions. That includes “complex and major information technology equipment, systems, services, and supplies through lease, rental or purchase within DOJ’s delegated purchasing authority.”
The manager “will provide a wide variety of leadership, managerial, oversight, representative, consultative, and analytical support related to the planning, budgeting, personnel development and management, and program administration of the ITCPU,” the posting says.
