Shares of Zee Entertainment (up 5.29 per cent), PVR (up 1.09 per cent) and TV Today Network (up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While TV18 Broadcast (down 3.42 per cent), Navneet Education Ltd (down 2.7 per cent), Dish TV India (down 1.66 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 1.48 per cent) and DB Corp (down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.05 per cent up at 1592.45 around 02:00PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 101.80 points at 11473.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 377.03 points at 38811.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zee Ent., GMR Infra and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Fine Organic Industries Ltd., Deepak Nitrite, Indiabulls Ventures (PP), Affle (India) Ltd. and Aarti Drugs hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Eicher Motors Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
