The year 2020 has been a witness of many firsts in the culinary world. What really made us get up and notice were some bizarre food combinations that either piqued our interest or made us all cringe. Maggi pani puri, Biryani with chocolate spread, watermelon with tomato sauce – and many more such strange kitchen experiments flooded the internet and inspired others to come up with their own never-seen-before creations like this man who joined the bandwagon and cooked red sauce paste dosa and posted the video on Twitter. 

Even if the name of the recipe sounds utterly unappetising, it is difficult to ignore and not see the strange dosa recipe video. The home chef did the unthinkable – combined the signature dishes from Italian and south Indian cuisine and created this fusion dosa. The video was posted on Twitter handle RDX with the caption, “Tamil Friend jab iss type ka dosa Dekhta bahut Gaaliya deta hai (Whenever my Tamil friend sees this type of dosa, he abuses.”

The viral food video shows a man spreading dosa batter on a heavy iron flat tawa, and then quickly makes red sauce over the batter with onions, tomatoes, capsicum, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, cream and spices. He adds boiled macaroni pasta to the mixture, while dosa is cooking, sprinkles oodles of cheese, and then cuts the dosa into vertical pieces, which he rolls them up to make tiny dosa rolls. Finally, he tops the red sause pasta dosa with some more cheese and cream.  

The viral Twitter video clocked in more than 2 lakh views and thousands of comments and retweets so far. While there is a sect of people that is impressed with this invention, many users see it as an abomination like other viral food combinations.
