The bar and restaurant are co-owned by Gerald Ignash and Melissa Mell, who bought the bar in 2020 and reopened it in 2021 after renovations. Mell, who spoke with the Tribune, talked in regards to the restaurant’s summer time season and what they’re providing to the neighborhood.

“On Sunday afternoons we do live music and (people playing) cornhole, and kids playing games outside,” mentioned Mell. “It’s nice to have the park next to us.”

The restaurant would not keep open too late, with Mell saying she prefers seeing small teams, households, and the neighborhood for dinner slightly than a late-night crowd.

“It’s live music or activities,” mentioned Mell. “We have had comedians and hypnotists. I had never believed in (hypnotists) until we had it this (past) winter inside. It was really happening! I do kitty karaoke for kids every Saturday from 3-5 p.m.,” mentioned Mell. “It gives them a chance to have a little fun on my stage rather than all the adults taking over the microphone. (The kids) love it. We started it on Memorial Day, it is bringing in a lot of people.”

It is such a good community, the people make my day every day.”
