South London firms will be able to hear about new tech, diversity and leadership at a conference.

The South London Innovation Corridor is hosting a series of virtual events during London Tech Week.

The project, which is re-branding to become Stride, is backed by Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth councils.

It makes space for creativity and innovation to thrive in South London. As part of London Tech Week, on Thursday, September 10, Stride will bring together OneTech, Foundervine and Microsoft for a series of virtual discussions on tackling diversity and inclusion within the technology sector.

OneTech managing director, Alison Partridge, said “We are delighted to be partnering with Stride to support underrepresented communities in South London to connect with opportunities in tech.

As we start to understand what impact COVID-19 has had, activities which support local people to carve out positive economic futures for themselves close to home are more important than ever.”

The events are:

How I Started: Meet the South London Founders Scaling New Ideas2-3pm

This fireside chat will showcase OneTech’s Stride funded work in South London through the lens of two founders who recently benefited from the Stride programme.

Stride – Empowering Inclusive Leadership4-5pm

In this lively session, Stride will partner with four young people from South London who will turn the mentor/mentee relationship on its head by posing some tough questions to tech business leaders.

Stride – Boosting Diversity in Tech5-6pm

Stride hosts a thought-provoking roundtable discussion with leading tech experts who will share radical ideas for boosting diversity & inclusion within the technology sector.Further details here
