Morgan-Rose Hart died per week after being discovered unresponsive on the Derwent Centre in Harlow
A coroner has warned extra deaths will happen until well being provision improves for folks with autism who’ve psychological well being and self-harm dangers.
It follows an the demise of Morgan-Rose Hart, 18, at a unit in Harlow, in 2022.

Essex County Council stated it will reply sooner or later to a Prevention of Future Deaths report filed by space coroner Sonia Hayes.
Ms Hart died in hospital six days after she was discovered unresponsive within the lavatory of her psychological well being lodging within the Derwent Centre in Harlow, Essex in July 2022.
Ms Hart, from Chelmsford, had ADHD, autism, a historical past of psychological unwell well being and self-harm, and had been a affected person on the unit for 3 weeks.
In her Prevention of Future Deaths report, Ms Hayes stated: “There is a significant shortfall of appropriate placements for people with autism who have mental health and self-harm risks in Essex both inpatient and in the community.”
She added: “During the course of the inquest the evidence revealed matters giving rise to concern.
“In my opinion, there’s a danger that future deaths will happen until motion is taken.”
The report has been sent to Essex County Council and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT).
A spokesperson for EPUT, which runs the unit in which Ms Hart was a patient, said: “Our condolences stay with Morgan-Rose’s family members following their tragic loss.
“We remain absolutely committed to ensuring improvements are embedded throughout the organisation, so that all patients receive the high quality and compassionate care they deserve.
“We are totally reviewing the coroner’s findings and can reply to the report in full sooner or later.”
An Essex County Council spokesperson said: “We want to provide our deepest sympathies to Morgan-Rose’s household and buddies on their unhappy and tragic loss.
“We are aware of the Prevention of Future Deaths report relating to Morgan-Rose and will be responding, as directed by the coroner, in due course.”
