Veteran Telugu actress Jamuna, who was the feminine result in legendary N T Rama Rao and different main stars of yesteryear, died right here on Friday as a result of previous age. She was 87.
She died on Friday morning as a result of age-related points, members of the family instructed reporters.
Jamuna, who immortalised the character of Satyabhama in mythological movies, began appearing in stage performs at a younger age and went on to behave in over 200 movies.
Though she acted primarily in Telugu movies, Jamuna additionally labored in just a few Tamil, Kannada and Hindi movies.
She gained the Filmfare award for Hindi Film ‘Milan’.
Some of her iconic movies embrace ‘Missamma’, ‘Gundamma Katha’ and ‘Sri Krishna Tulabharam’.
Jamuna was elected to Lok Sabha from Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh on behalf of the Congress in 1989.
Former Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan condoled the loss of life of Jamuna.
