The Haunting of Bly Manor is coming to Netflix in October. The show marks the return of showrunner Mike Flanagan after the smashing success of The Haunting of Hill House. The upcoming show has some familiar faces and the familiar premise of a haunted house. But the similarities end there with a brand new story waiting to unfold. So far we have a trailer, a teaser poster and adding to the hype are a fresh batch of posters revealing the titles of each episode.
The Haunting of Bly Manor has 9 episodes adapted from Henry James’ gothic classic ‘The Turn of the Screw’. The novella tells the story of a governess who is hired to take care of two young children at a large estate that locals believe is haunted. Mike Flanagan’s rendition is decidedly modern and while he takes creative liberties with the source text, we know it’s only going to enhance the plot given his history in the horror genre. And a glimpse of that vision can be seen in some very creepy posters Netflix dropped on Twitter. Take a look:
The Haunting Of Bly Manor has the cast of Hill House re-team with Victoria Pedretti, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Henry Thomas and Kate Siegel playing major characters. In case you missed it, there are some haunting character posters out there too.

Check out the official synopsis here: After an au pair’s tragic death, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to care for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) who reside at Bly Manor with the estate’s chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve) and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (T’Nia Miller). But all is not as it seems at the manor, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed in this chilling gothic romance. At Bly Manor, dead doesn’t mean gone.
The Haunting of Bly Manor releases on Netflix on October 2, 2020.
