As 2023 attracts to an in depth, it’s time to look again on the 12 months that was. It was an incredible 12 months for leisure and a not-so-great 12 months for the individuals who really made that leisure. It was the 12 months Twitter died, and the 12 months Matter largely did not launch. Gadgets bought gadgety-er, pictures bought what-is-a-photo-ier, and generative AI was all of the sudden in all places.

Now by the tip of the 12 months, we’ll recap the highs and lows in devices, social media, and leisure, and look forward at how 2024 is shaping up (spoiler: much more AI).
