The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain might not see eye to eye when it comes to politics, but it’s incredibly clear that they have deep respect for one another.

Meghan made her true thoughts about her View co-star known when posting to Instagram on Wednesday. Alongside a screenshot from an episode of the daytime show, Meghan wrote, “Getting to work with a living icon like @whoopigoldberg every day is still such a privilege and totally surreal. Love you Whoop, thank you for your unending support, friendship and political perspective – I continue to learn from you every day. I’m so lucky to get to do what I do @theviewabc every day surrounded by such incredible women. ♥️🇺🇸”

Inspired by Meghan’s thoughtful message, many View fans took to the comment section to share their own positive thoughts.

“Whoopi is the voice of reason on the view. I love her honesty ! She is the glue that keeps that show going 👍👍👍👍👍,” one fan wrote. “This is what I love about the ladies. Yes you all have different points of view. But in the end you respect each other and yes are even friends ( shocking in this political environment),” another stated. Meghan has long been open about her admiration for Whoopi. In January on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the conservative cohost acknowledged that while she and Whoopi might get into heated arguments at times, she thoroughly enjoys debating with her.

“I could not do the show … If she leaves, I go,” Meghan declared. “Whoopi is the anchor of the show and my life there and she always picks us up when we’re down. If she jumps, I jump. Whoopi, I adore her and I need her as the moderator.”

And the feeling appears to be mutual. After Whoopi and Meghan got into a particularly intense on-air fight last December, the Sister Act star cleared the air a day later.

“We’re really passionate. This is our jobs. We come in, we talk to each other. Sometimes we’re not as polite as we could be,” Whoopi said, in part. “That’s just the way it is. But you’re going to be dealing with the same thing when you’re sitting around your table with your family and you don’t agree, or somebody says women can’t sit around and talk. This is not an indication that we don’t know how to deal with each other on camera.”
