It is a fact that sports teaches us many of life’s greatest lessons. Whether it is fostering the spirit of teamwork and camaraderie, inducing patience during failure, or developing confidence to emerge victorious, there’s a lot of wisdom that we can acquire on the playing field. Ask any athlete and they are sure to tell us how the games they played moulded them both professionally and personally. Anecdotes from their years spent on the field can teach us a thing or two about life and this is why, this IPL season, CRED is bringing to us an exciting series featuring a bunch of legendary cricketers.

CRED’s ‘The Long Game’- a six-part masterclass series, is all set to give us an insight into the lives, career, journey, and learnings of India’s top cricketers. After the first episode with Mohinder Amarnath, CRED is bringing back
Indiranagar’s most famous ‘Gunda’ Rahul Dravid for a trip down memory lane and to say that we are excited would be an understatement!

If cricket is ‘The Gentleman’s Game,’ Rahul Dravid is certainly the quintessential gentleman. Throughout the years we have seen him in various avatars- as ‘The Wall’ of the Indian national team, as one of the greatest one-day players in cricketing history, as the graceful and humble captain in interviews, as the zen-spirited human being who never asked for attention but tirelessly worked for the team.
‘The Long Game’ comes at a time when the IPL season is approaching a grand ending and most of us are gripped by the exhilaration of the tournament. The
first episode of this six-part masterclass series featured Mohinder Amarnath- another cricketing legend that we have all looked up to throughout the years. The World Cup 1983 hero recounted many learnings and challenges from the field and told us how these learning can also be applied to the game called life.

In the second episode, the magnetic Rahul Dravid talks about various things under the sun. He reminisces about his cricketing days where his bat did most of the talking; lessons from cricket and years spent on and off the field; the first time he was mentioned in the newspapers; and other memories big and small. He also recounts the highs and lows from his career like losing to the West Indies in 1997 in Barbados and scoring a long-awaited century at Lord’s against England in 2011.

In ‘The Long Game’ Rahul says,
“For cricket lovers, The Long Game will bring untold memories from various stages of my career and I hope that the audience can learn from the lessons that I picked up over the years. It was a great experience working with CRED again. It’s nice to see the experiences and rewards they offer to their members for practicing financially responsible behaviour, enabling a good life.”

If you are someone who genuinely enjoys cricket, this is your opportunity to learn some life-changing lessons from the stars you’ve always looked up to.
