The school season for sports has arrived and the opportunities to see the MCW athletes is plentiful. Check out the school website at www.martin.k12.mn.us to get game days and times. Or check the facebook site at mcwJHSHschool.

Tomorrow there will be a volleyball game at Trimont with Blue Earth at 7 p.m. There will also be volleyball games on Oct. 1, 2, 4, and 5th. There is a football home game versus New Ulm Cathedral on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. Good luck to all the MCW athletes.

Sherburn Nursery and Floral will have a special launch 1-5 p.m Saturday, for their new Fall and Christmas arrivals and will open their Boutique featuring a Switch-Hood Jacket designed by a southern Minnesota designer. See the New items.

St. Luke’s Catholic Church will begin their Service time change from Oct.-Dec. with services 5 p.m. Saturday. Area residents are invited to join them.

The Sherburn Theatre will have a new release, Adams Family 2 for the weekend show on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. Encourage local business.

The C and C business group will meet 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5th at the Senior Citizen’s building. All members are encouraged to attend.

Lunch and Learn will meet 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 6th, in Sherburn at the Senior Citizen’s building. This is sponsored by Crest and is available for free to all county residents. The theme for this event is Westward Ho and features pictures of the Badlands, Big Horn Mountain, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons. The lunch will be Beef Stew and biscuits and apple dessert.

Crest also sponsors a Care Giver Support group which meets 10 a.m. the first Monday of each month at Trinity Lutheran Church in Trimont. The first Monday is October 4th.

Welcome Senior Citizens will meet at noon on Oct 4th at the Welcome Legion for a potluck meal and fellowship. Area senior citizens are encourage to join them especially if there is no senior citizen group active in your community.

Condolences to the family of Andria Renee Jones (Koons) who passed away last week. She is a former resident of Sherburn and will be missed.

Just a reminder, if anyone is planning their vacation for the summer of 2022, include June 18th at the Martin County West All School Reunion on the agenda.

Also a reminder that next Wednesday, Oct. 6, is Hamburger Night at the Sherburn Legion from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 9th will be Steak Night. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
