Monsoon is the best time to indulge in crispy pakodas.
There are many things that we love about Monsoon but sitting by our window with a cup of chai along with some crispy pakodas tops the list! Monsoon brings a plethora of opportunities for us to gorge on decadent fried snacks. Pakodas are one of the most popular snacks during monsoon, so much so that as soon as we get the first shower, we take out our kadhai and start frying some pakodas.
The best part about pakodas is that they come in all shapes, sizes and flavours. Be it the crispy onion pakodas or the classic bread or aloo pakoda that make for a heavenly combination with mint chutney, we simply can’t have enough of them. And then there are many innovative ones like chicken pakoda, baby corn pakoda and even cucumber (kheere) ka pakoda.

One such incredibly delicious pakoda variety is hari mirch (green chilli) pakoda that is perfect for those who love all things fiery! Green chilli is one ingredient that we can find in many Indian households but perhaps doesn’t think of it as the star of the dish. We hardly find a dish that uses green chilli as the main ingredient, but hari mirch ka pakoda is definitely an exception that will tantalise your taste buds. The zing of green chilli, de-seeded and stuffed with potato filling, laced with a smooth besan batter, fried to perfect crisp is what makes these unique pakodas a must-have this monsoon season.
Note: To make your pakodas crispier, use cold water while making the batter. Colder the water, crispier would be the pakodas!
