Switching the occasion into the election mode, the Congress in Kerala Friday launched a statewide protest march led by occasion state president Okay Sudhakaran and Opposition chief V D Satheesan.
Billed as “people’s agitation” towards the Central and state governments, the journey of the duo would cowl the 14 districts in Kerala within the subsequent three weeks. AICC common secretary Okay C Venugopal flagged off the march in Kasaragod.
Satheesan advised reporters in Kasaragod that the “samaragni (flame of protest)”, is towards the Centre and the state authorities.
“We are going to satisfy atypical individuals, these affected by the flawed insurance policies of each governments. The state’s social welfare sector is shattered. We would meet people who find themselves victims of the collapsed welfare equipment. Also, there could be a marketing campaign towards the BJP’s bid to polarise individuals on the strains of faith. This yatra would replicate Congress’s sharp marketing campaign towards fascism and communalism,’’ he stated.
Inaugurating the yatra, Okay C Venugopal stated, “This yatra is meant to expose Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He is not against BJP. He is ready for a compromise with BJP to safeguard his position and shield his dear ones. Vijayan has no moral ground to fight the Governor. What happened for CPI(M) in West Bengal would happen for the party under Vijayan. In the upcoming elections, Kerala will elect UDF candidates in all 20 seats. BJP is not going to open an account in Kerala.”
