  • Child Advocates Superhero Run 2021 at CityCentre | Saturday, October 16 – Returning in-person this year, the 2021 Superhero Run raises funds for Child Advocates, an organization that has been helping abused children with support, medical and psychological help, and engagement in school for over thirty years. Participants are encouraged to don the costume of their favorite heroes during the 5K run/walk or 1K Kids Run. Registration is $35 for the 5K; $20 for the 1K Kids Run. 8am.
  • Toughest 10K Galveston at Galveston Causeway Bridge | Saturday, October 16 – Get the blood pumping in the morning at this daunting 10K that sends runners from the Galveston County Daily News offices over the 72-foot tall Galveston causeway bridge and back again. Registration is $60 until Tuesday, October 12; $65 until Race Day; $75 day of the race. 7:30am.
  • Houston Dynamo FC vs. Seattle Sounders FC at BBVA Stadium | Saturday, October 16 – Catch the Dynamo in one of their final home games of the regular season when they take on the red-hot Seattle Sounders FC in EaDo. Tickets range from $20 to over $100, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 7:30pm.
  • Houston Dash vs. Portland Thorns FC at BBVA Stadium | Sunday, October 17 – In their final home game of the regular season, the Dash will host one of the strongest teams in the league, Portland Thorns FC, that includes USWNT champions Lindsey Horan, Meghan Klingenberg, and Becky Sauerbrunn. Tickets range from $12 to more than $50, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 6pm.
  • Taste of Fitness at Spindletap Brewery | Sunday, October 17 – The North Houston brewery hosts a tour of fitness studios with this event that offers back-to-back 25-minute workouts plus a bonus meditation, and a health and wellness market. Get into yoga, boxing, strength training, and more during this morning workout bonanza. Tickets are $30. 9am to 1:30pm.
