Two US Army Blackhawk helicopters crashed in Kentucky throughout a coaching mission Wednesday night time, officers stated.

“The status of the crew members are unknown at this time,” military base Fort Campbell stated in a press release early Thursday.

“The command is currently focused on caring for the servicemembers and their families.”

The helicopters, from the a hundred and first Airborne Division, crashed at round 10:00 pm Wednesday in Kentucky’s Trigg county, northwest of Fort Campbell.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear stated fatalities had been anticipated.

“We’ve got some tough news out of Fort Campbell, with early reports of a helicopter crash and fatalities are expected,” he stated on Twitter.

He stated Kentucky police and emergency administration had been responding.

“Please pray for all those affected,” Beshear tweeted.

Fort Campbell stated the incident was underneath investigation.
