The guidelines, launched in October, search to halt shipments to China of extra superior AI chips designed by Nvidia (NVDA.O), and others as Washington cracks down on Beijing over considerations its advancing tech sector might assist enhance China’s army.
The new guidelines, which run 166 pages in size, go into impact on Thursday. They make clear, for instance, that restrictions on chip shipments to China additionally apply to laptops containing these chips.
