The Union home ministry came out with the Unlock 4 guidelines on Saturday.
According to the guidelines, public gatherings including social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural and religious will be permitted from September 21 with a ceiling of 100 persons.
Mandatory wearing of face masks, social distancing, provision for thermal scanning and hand wash or sanitisers will be required to hold such gatherings.
Also, no such event can take place in a containment zone.
The notification, however, also specified that swimming pools and entertainment parks cannot be opened as yet.
Issuing guidelines for Unlock 4.0, which will come into effect from September 1, the home ministry said the government has decided to open up more activities.
The home ministry said these guidelines have been formulated based on feedback received from states and UTs, and extensive consultations were held with related central ministries and departments.
