Andy Murray, 2012 US Open champion, exited this year’s tournament after a straight-sets loss to 15th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada. Auger-Aliassime marched into third round with a routine 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 win over the Briton at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Murray came back from two sets down to win a thrilling five-set match first-round match against Japan’s 49th-ranked Yoshihito Nishioka on Tuesday. However, with his Candian opponent firing on all cylinders, Murray failed replicate the feats of his first-round match.

Murray was playing in the singles at a Grand Slam for the first time since a first-round exit at the Australian Open in 2019.
