Venice, Italy, will restrict the dimensions of tour teams and take different measures starting this summer time to melt the affect of tourism on the area people.

The new municipal decision will cap tour teams at 25 folks — or roughly half of the passengers on an ordinary tour bus — and ban loudspeakers that “may cause confusion and disturbance,” town stated in a press release.

Set to take impact on June 1, the brand new guidelines will apply to each the historic middle of Venice in addition to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.

Venice safety councilor Elisabetta Pesce stated it was an “important measure aimed at improving the management of groups organized in the historic center and on the nearby islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello, promoting sustainable tourism and guaranteeing the protection and safety of the city.”
