Noted actor Sulochana Latkar, recognized for her innumerable mom roles in Hindi and Marathi cinema, was cremated with state honours on the Shivaji Park crematorium right here on Monday.
The 94-year-old actor died on Sunday as a result of extended sickness at a hospital right here.
Sulochana’s daughter Kanchan Ghanekar carried out the final rites.

”The cremation was carried out between 5:30 to five:45 pm with state honours. It was held in presence of household, colleagues and mates like Sonali Kulkarni, Sanjay Manjrekar, Mahesh Kothari, Sachin Pilgaonkar amongst others,” her grandson-in-law Parag Ajgavkar advised PTI. Sulochana, began her profession in Forties and went on to function in over 250 movies in a six decade lengthy journey within the motion pictures.
Some of Sulochana’s notable movies are “Sasurvas”, “Vahinichya Bangdya”, and “Dhakti Jau” in Marathi and “Aaye Din Bahar Ke”, “Gora Aur Kala”, “Devar”, “Talaash”, and “Azaad” in Hindi. The actor largely performed on-screen mom within the Bollywood movies of the Sixties, Nineteen Seventies and Eighties, nearly invariably wearing a white saree. She labored with all of the lead stars of the period, together with Sunil Dutt, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Dilip Kumar, and Amitabh Bachchan.
The Hindi blockbuster hits she starred in are “Heera”, “Reshma Aur Shera”, “Jaani Dushman”, “Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai”, “Jhonny Mera Naam”, “Kati Patang”, Mere Jeevan Saathi”, “Prem Nagar”, and “Bhola Bhala”. She is survived by her daughter Kanchan Ghanekar.
