It will be an understatement to say that 2020 has been a hard year, as the world struggles with the novel coronavirus pandemic. But some people are still trying to find light moments amid this crisis through memes.

Well, if you consider a Twitter user @lookitshnb’s perspective, according to her it’s not the novel coronavirus that is the “worst pandemic of our time”. In fact, going by her now-viral tweet, it is the 1999 Indian version of the popular American sitcom Friends. Yes, you read that right.

We have to say it is a bit cringy.

Check out the viral tweet.

In 1999, a sitcom called Hello Friends (zero marks for creativity), a Hindi language sitcom premiered. And if you take in consideration the year, the show aired at the time when the original Friends was still running.

Though Friends ran for ten seasons, the show only had 26 episodes and only aired from September 6, 1999, to February 28, 2000.

She shared a scene from the first episode of the sitcom, which is eerily similar to the first episode in Friends, when Rachel, wearing a wedding gown, enters the Central Perk café; while Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey are discussing Ross’s first divorce.

Watch the scene yourself:

After she reminded the world that at one point such a sitcom existed, netizens collectively went into shock. And well, they didn’t disagree that the show was a cringe-fest.

Twitterati had a lot to say about this discovery, and some of these reactions are hilarious.
