If you’ve been hearing a lot about Taj Falaknuma Palace these days, it’s because of the celebrity couple RJ Anmol and actress Amrita Rao. Ever since they tied the knot in the year 2014, they have been one of the most-loved couples on the internet. Post marriage, they started their own YouTube channel ‘Couple of Things – Amrita Rao I RJ Anmol’. They are now in the news for celebrating their 13th anniversary of marriage proposal at the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, and what has really grabbed the eyeballs is their special anniversary lunch on the world’s longest dining table in the princely palace.
RJ Anmol surprised wife Amrita Rao by booking the expansive dining table all for themselves. The table is housed in the regal 101 Dining Hall (also known as Durbar Hall, Jade Room) of the palace. After having pineapple-based drinks on the terrace of the ‘Nizam’s Private Breakfast Area’, the duo was seen enjoying a lavish lunch at ‘The Royal Dining Table’.

Both RJ Anmol and Amrita Rao chose to have a pita wrap filled with lettuce leaves and a mixture. Post their lunch, RJ Anmol had another surprise in store. He took Amrita to a balcony where a table was set for a private cake-cutting ceremony that featured a pineapple cake topped with blueberries.
About the World’s Longest Dining Table:
Taj Falaknuma Palace is nestled 2,000 feet above the city of Hyderabad. It was built in the year 1894, by the former palace of the Nizam. The massive palace houses many multi-cuisine restaurants. The 101 Dining Hall is now closed for dining but back in the day, it saw many popular names having a royal meal together, including Queen Mary and King George. The world’s longest dining table is 108 feet long, 5.7-foot wide and 2.7-foot high. The 101-seater dining hall is decorated with Belgian chandeliers and is flanked by assorted gardens and terraces.
Another interesting fact about the dining hall is that the menu is painted on the walls. One could simply point out at a particular painting and it would be duly served. It is also said that at the mere nod of the head of Nizam, waiters used to pour wine, and the meals were served on gold plates. That’s not all, there used to be mini train running around the table so that diners could just pick their choice of food without having to move.
