The last weekend in September on BT Sport promises to be unmissable, with a number of major events to get sports fans salivating.

From a huge Premier League offering, a mammoth weekend of European rugby through to what is sure to be an unforgettable weekend for fight fans, there is plenty to keep you glued to the TV.

Your Premier League weekend kicks off on BT Sport when a wounded Manchester United travel to Brighton looking to bounce back from a shock opening defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils suffered a miserable start to the new campaign when Wilfried Zaha scored twice against his old club at Old Trafford.

Brighton bounced back from opening day defeat to Chelsea with an impressive away win at Newcastle and will provide a stern test for Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek and co.

Our Sunday double-header begins with a tantalising Yorkshire derby between Sheffield United and Leeds at Bramall Lane.

Leeds have been the great entertainers so far, losing 4-3 to Liverpool before beating Fulham by the same scoreline at Elland Road, while Sheffield United have suffered back-to-back defeats to Wolves and Aston Villa.

And the action doesn’t stop there! Settle in for another intriguing match-up on Sunday evening when winless West Ham host Wolves at London Stadium.

An unforgettable month for UFC fans culminates with the blockbuster showdown we’ve all been waiting for between Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa at UFC 253.

The clash between two undefeated superstars of the middleweight division also marks the return to Fight Island, which will host a run of five events finishing with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s return against Justin Gaethje.

Title holder Adesanya – known as The Last Stylebender – successfully defended his strap against Yoel Romero in his last outing in March, beating the Cuban by unanimous decision.

Brazilian Costa has won all 13 of his bouts with 11 coming by knockout and has wins against Romero, Uriah Hall and Johny Hendricks on his record.

The pair have become embroiled in a bitter war of words in recent months but the talking will stop on Saturday night when they square off in what promises to be an unmissable main event.

A new light heavyweight champion will also be crowned when Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz meet for the belt vacated by Jon Jones.

World championship boxing continues in September with an unmissable fight night headlined by one of Britain’s most talented operators.

Unified world super lightweight champion Josh Taylor make his return to the ring for a mandatory defence of his IBF title against the unbeaten Thai Apinun Khongsong on Saturday.

The Tartan Tornado makes his first appearance since his triumph in the World Boxing Super Series in London, where he defeated the previously unbeaten Regis Prograis in a fight of the year contender.

“Khongsong is standing in the way of where I want to go so I need to get rid of him,” said a bullish Taylor.

“This is his introduction to world boxing and I am going to make it a painful one for him. He doesn’t belong at this level and I am a couple of levels above him. I am going to go in there and knock him out.”

Former WBC world flyweight champion Charlie Edwards also returns to the ring, where he will step up to bantamweight to take on Kyle Williams.

MotoGP of Catalunya

A wildly unpredictable MotoGP season heads to Spain for the Grand Prix of Catalunya after a sixth different winner was crowned from the opening seven races at last weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Yamaha’s Maverick Vinales was the latest to capitalise on Marc Marquez’s injury when he secured a stunning victory in Misano, San Marino.

Honda and Ducati have historically dominated at Catalunya, but with most recent winners Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo out of action, there’s every chance we could see yet another first time winner in north-eastern Spain.

Remarkably, there are only four points between the top four riders in the Championship standings. Andrea Dovizioso leads the way with 84 points, with Fabio Quartararo and Vinales on 83 and Joan Mir on 80.
