Sadanand Dhume writes a biweekly column on India and South Asia for WSJ.com. He focuses on the area’s politics, economics and international coverage.

Mr. Dhume can be a resident fellow on the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. Previously he labored because the New Delhi bureau chief of the Far Eastern Economic Review (FEER), and as Indonesia correspondent for FEER and The Wall Street Journal Asia.

Mr. Dhume is the writer of “My Friend the Fanatic: Travels with a Radical Islamist,” (Skyhorse Publishing, 2009), which charts the rise of the unconventional Islamist motion in Indonesia. His subsequent e-book will have a look at India’s transformation for the reason that election of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.

Mr. Dhume holds a bachelor’s diploma in sociology from the University of Delhi, a grasp’s diploma in worldwide relations from Princeton University and a grasp’s diploma in journalism from Columbia University. He lives in Washington, D.C. along with his spouse, and travels regularly to India.
