Women sanitations workers take part in sports meet | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: A sports meet was held at Noida Stadium on Wednesday morning. However, it was different from the usual sports competitions that are organised. For the first time women employees of Noida Authority took part in various events.
Some women workers who participated in the event work in the nearby sectors 21, 22 and 25 for cleanliness and sanitation work but had never stepped inside the integrated sports complex. “It was for the first time that a sports meet was organized for our women workers. The idea was to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav and motivate our women staff members,” said senior project engineer of the public health department, SC Mishra.
Meena and Annu were declared winners in the short-put and 400-metre sprint events respectively. While Meena managed to scale a distance of 6.45-metre, Annu was able to complete the lap in 1 minute and 39 seconds. The winners and runner ups were given cash rewards apart from certificates.
