Belarus joins Russia

Since the outset of the war in Ukraine, Belarus has allowed Russia to use its territory as a staging ground for aerial attacks but claimed it would not be sending troops. That may change now, as Belarusian president Alyaksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin agreed to deploy a joint regional military task force.

Protests against Russian terrorism

The savagery of Russian strikes against civilian targets in Ukraine has been met with criticism around the globe. Ukrainians living in Poland assembled outside the Russian embassy in Warsaw to protest Russia’s terrorist tactics. Lithuania rearming

Lithuania has condemned Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian civilians, calling it a sign of desperation. President Gitanas Nauseda proposed that the country’s 2023 budget include the option of dedicating up to 3 percent of Lithuania’s GDP to national defence.
