CHICAGO — At least one person died and five others were injured in a shooting outside a pancake house on Chicago’s Far South Side, the local police said.

ADEN, Yemen — Some unidentified gunmen opened fire and killed a politician of Yemen’s Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islah party in the country’s southern port city of Aden on Sunday, a security official told Xinhua.

CAIRO — The Egyptian army announced on Sunday that its forces have recently killed 77 terrorists in the country’s restive North Sinai Province.

DAR ES SALAAM — At least 230,000 hectares of forest in Tanzania’s central region of Singida is under threat following encroachment by people and grazing of livestock in the area, an official said on Sunday.

MADRID — A wildfire that started on Thursday afternoon in the province of Huelva, southwest Spain, continued to spread on Sunday after affecting 10,000 hectares and leading to an evacuation of around 3,000 people.
