A soldier and three terrorists were killed on Saturday after an encounter broke out in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“One AK and two Pistols recovered.One soldier was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries. Joint operation in progress.” army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

Police officials said that the encounter started in the early hours of Saturday in Pulwama’s Zadoora area at around 1am. The operation is still underway.

Meanwhile, four terrorists were also killed in an encounter in the Shopian district on Friday which has taken the total number of terrorists killed in the valley in the less than 24 hours to seven.
