Rock Paper Rum is the brainchild of Lalit Khalani, who is the third-generation member of a family that had a rum business popular among the Army, Navy and Air Force canteens across the country in the 80s. Kalani has revived the family business by producing two new small-batch variants—Indian Spiced Rum, a triple-distilled golden rum crafted from sugarcane, and a gamut of botanicals and spices. The medium-bodied spirit is best enjoyed on the rocks or in a cocktail. The Coastal White Rum, on the other hand, is woody and sweet, with a hint of vanilla.
Rock Paper Rum is currently available in Mumbai, and will be soon available across Maharashtra and Goa. Rs1,500 for a 750ml bottle.

Amrut Two Indies Rum

If you’re not feeling too experimental, stick to the good ol’ rum from the makers of Amrut. The brand crafts rum with just as much finesse as its whisky. The medium-bodied liquor is blended with Caribbean rums from Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana, and is ideal for those who are looking for a fruity dry-finish rum with notes of banana, almonds, sugarcane and tropical fruits.
Amrut’s Two Indies Rum is available across the country. The bottle is Rs850 for 750ml in Goa.

Lemon Dash Rum by Radico Khaitan

From the house of Indian liquor company Radico Khaitan, comes a new flavoured white rum. It’s got a mix of spicy notes and refreshing flavours borrowed from lemons. It can be sipped on the rocks, or in a cocktail. Lemon Dash is an addition to the company’s 1965 Spirit of Victory Rum collection, which was launched in the canteen store departments across the country as a tribute to the Indian Armed Forces in 2017.
Rs850 for 750ml in Orissa.
