New Delhi/Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) The CBI has registered a case towards IRS officer Sameer Wankhede and 4 others for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore bribe from Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, for not implicating him within the Cordelia cruise case and taking Rs 50 lakh from them.
Following this CBI has carried out searches at his 29 premises in Mumbai, Delhi and Kanpur, amongst others.
Wankhede was heading the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zone, throughout the Cordelia cruise drug bust case.He led a staff of officers to raid the Cordelia ship off the Mumbai coast on the night time of October 2, 2021.In the raid, the NCB claimed to have seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of mephedrone, 21 grams of marijuana, 22 capsules of MDMA (ecstasy) and Rs 1.33 lakh in money, following which they arrested 17 individuals, together with Aryan Khan.
According to a press release issued by CBI, the central probe company has filed a case towards Sameer Wankhede the then Zonal Director of NCB, Mumbai Zone, Vishwas Vijay Singh then Superintendent of NCB, Ashish Ranjan then Intelligence Officer, KP Gosavi (non-public individual), Sanvile D’Souza (non-public individual) and unknown others beneath related Sections of PC Act and IPC.
The instantaneous case was registered on a criticism from NCB, Delhi for conducting investigation by CBI.
It has been alleged that the mentioned officers of NCB of Mumbai Zone, with the intention to acquire undue benefit from the individuals in Case No. 94/2021, earlier registered and investigated beneath the supervision of the then Zonal Director of Mumbai Zone of NCB, had entered into alleged legal conspiracy with others and had allegedly obtained undue benefit from the alleged accused of the case, the assertion mentioned.UNI AAA CM
