Tristan Abrahams struck twice in the second half as Newport County moved up to third in League Two with victory at winless Bolton.
Striker Abrahams capitalised from close range to give County the lead after Bolton keeper Billy Crellin could only parry Joss Labadie’s shot.
Bolton thought they had levelled a minute later but Nathan Delfouneso’s goal was ruled out for handball, summing up a poor afternoon for Ian Evatt’s side.
Abrahams netted his fifth goal of the season with another close range finish after Crellin spilled Ryan Haynes’ effort.
Bolton are 22nd after a third consecutive defeat while Newport turn their attention to Wednesday’s EFL Cup fourth round tie against Newcastle United.
