Actor Rajinikanth was on Thursday, 28 October, admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, reported ANI, citing the hospital. Sources close to the actor said that he was at the hospital for a routine check-up.

Meanwhile, other sources said that Rajinikanth is suffering from infarction, which is tissue death (necrosis) resulting from inadequate blood supply to the affected area. It may be caused by artery blockages, rupture.

According to hospital sources, Rajinikanth will be most likely be staying overnight.
