South star Vikram on Monday mentioned he referred to as Anurag Kashyap “immediately” after he got here to know the filmmaker had tried to contact him him for Kennedy.

In a latest interview with information outlet Film Companion, Kashyap mentioned that Vikram, whose actual title is Kennedy John Victor, was his first option to play the titular murderer in his newest movie, however the actor “never responded”.

In a prolonged Twitter observe to the filmmaker, Vikram mentioned he referred to as Kashyap instantly after he obtained to know that the director was attempting to get in contact with him for a mission.

Vikram then wished the filmmaker “nice instances forward” and said he is excited about the movie as it has his name.

“As I mentioned throughout that telephone name, I’m very excited on your movie Kennedy and much more so as a result of it has my title. I want you nice instances forward. Lots of affection. Chiyaan Vikram aka Kennedy,” he added.

Kashyap, currently attending the Cannes Film Festival where Kennedy is set to premiere under the Midnight Screenings section, went on to cast Rahul Bhat as the lead.

“I truly had a particular actor in thoughts once I wrote this movie… The movie was referred to as Kennedy Project. It is Chiyaan Vikram. Chiyaan Vikram’s actual title is Kennedy. I reached out to him. He by no means responded. So then, I reached out to Rahul,” the filmmaker told the news website.

Kennedy is a noirish thriller which follows the titular character working for a corrupt police force with scores to settle. The film also features Sunny Leone.
