SC AGR Hearing LIVE: The Supreme Court’s concerns over the recovery of past AGR dues from insolvent telecom company Reliance Communications for the use of spectrum in sharing with Reliance Jio seem to have been addressed today, with the bench remarking that their problem is solved. Statement by advocate Harish Salve, appearing for Reliance Jio, has solved the problem, the SC bench said. A bench led by Justices Arun Mishra, S Abdul Nazeer and MR Shah is hearing the case. Harish Salve said that RCom insolvency was triggered by Ericsson. He informed the SC that UVARC, the top bidder for RCom, is not fronting for anyone. Reliance Jio has submitted that they are not interested in bidding for Reliance Communications. UVARC’s equity comes from public sector banks and public sector insurance companies. “What I am using, I pay for it. I pay AGR. Whatever bit I am using, I am paying accordingly,” Harish Salve said.
