Air India on Monday mentioned it has entered right into a codeshare settlement with AIX Connect (previously often known as Air Asia India).

A codeshare settlement permits one airline to promote seats on a flight operated by one other airline, with every airline utilizing its personal flight quantity.

Through this settlement, Air India will add its code to over 100 flights a day operated by AIX Connect on 21 routes. More routes underneath the codeshare settlement will probably be added progressively.

Bookings for the codeshare flights are being opened throughout factors of sale, for journey beginning this Wednesday.

“The scope of the agreement between the two airlines enables guests to receive their boarding passes at the first point of departure for all the travel sectors on a single ticket and have their baggage checked in through to their final destinations. Guests connecting from international to domestic flights will, however, need to clear customs at the first point of entry in India, in line with government regulations,” Air India mentioned in a launch.

With the implementation of the codeshare settlement, Air India has expanded its home route community to 4 new locations in India, specifically Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, and Surat, along with the frequent locations between the 2 airways’ route networks.

AIX Connect is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Air India, which is within the means of being built-in with Air India Express (one other 100 per cent subsidiary of Air India) to finally kind a single low-cost service inside the Tata group’s airline enterprise.
