FLORENCE, Wis. — Alan Brent Walker, 76, of Florence, Wis., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Brent was born on Dec. 5, 1943, in Anamosa, Iowa. He was the son of the late Wayne and Eloise (Hannahs) Walker. Brent grew up in Iowa and received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Over the years he worked as a field representative for United Fire and Casualty in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and as an agent for the Williams-Manny Agency in Rockford, Ill. Brent went out on his own and established the Brent Walker Agency in Belvidere, Ill. which he operated for 18 years. More recently he has worked locally as an agent for Danielson Insurance and 12 years as a delivery driver for The Drug Store. Brent married Judith Larson on Jan. 12, 1985, in Rockford. They have been residents of Florence since 2002. He was a faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Kingsford, where he served as an Elder and was involved with establishing the Helping Hands Ministry. Brent enjoyed fishing and reading. He loved studying history and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, James (Kathy) Seeberg of Lake Geneva, Wis. and Mark (Barbara) Seeberg of Florence; daughters, Elizabeth Devries of Roscoe, Ill., Sarah Walker Bending of Algonquin, Ill. and Amy Matthews of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Sarah and Jackson Seeberg; also by many special brothers and sisters in law. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 5, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kingsford. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Matthew Ruesch will officiate. Attendees are reminded to wear masks and social distance during the visitation and funeral services. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Florence.
