Alert: Walmart.com to Restock the PS5, Xbox Series X Today

UPDATE 3:25 p.m. ET: The restock seems to have kicked off with some infuriating technical issues on Walmart.com. We tried to order a PS5 during the sale, but when we entered the page, the retailer’s site told us “We’re getting you in line” only to then redirect us to the Walmart homepage with no apparent result.

After several more tries, we then saw a new page that offered us a button labeled “Hold my spot and keep shopping.” The page added: “Once it’s your turn, you’ll have 10 minutes to complete your purchase.” Clicking the button put us in a digital queue. However, the wait time we were given was 17 minutes long.

Eventually, the timer for the digital queue shut down, kicking us out of the queue. So sadly, we’re doubtful we’ll be able to score a PS5 today. But hopefully some consumers had better luck. Unfortunately, attempting to revisit the product pages for the consoles now seems to be causing this strange error.

Original story:Still looking to snag a Sony PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X? You have another chance today. Walmart is preparing to restock the products at 12 p.m. PT/ 3 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov. 1.

The retailer is listing the disc-based version of the PS5, the digital edition of the console, and the Xbox Series X, with a note that says “You can buy this online-only deal on Monday, Nov 1, at 3PM ET.” They’ll be available on both Walmart.com and its app while supplies last. So there’s no in-store pickup this time.

A Walmart spokesperson also told PCMag the sales will be open to all, meaning no Walmart+ membership will be needed.

Expect the units to sell out in seconds. Don’t give up if you see a sold out sign at 3:01 p.m. ET, though. Walmart will usually stagger the re-stock every 10 minutes, so check back if you fail to snag one immediately.

The consoles have been in short supply ever since the products launched last year. Not only are consumers buying up the systems, but so are scalpers hoping to profit off the demand. To this day, new PS5 and Xbox Series X units are getting resold on eBay for as much as $800.

If you don’t get a PS5 or Xbox Series X from Walmart, we recommend you get on social media and follow users devoted to tracking console restocks. There are numerous Twitter profiles and YouTube channels that monitor PS5 and Xbox Series X inventory, which can tip you off when more product will become available. Best Buy and GameStop are two other retailers that’ve been routinely restocking on the consoles as well.
