Amul Milk Price Hike News LIVE: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd which markets its products under the Amul brand on Saturday raised the rates of full cream milk and buffalo milk by Rs 2 per litre amid the festive season. The price of full cream milk has increased from Rs 61 per litre to Rs 63 per litre. Popular milk brands Amul and Mother Dairy had both last hiked milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in August to compensate for the increase in procurement costs. Before this, prices were increased in March. Today’s hike in price, which comes ahead of the festive season may impact household budgets because milk is one of the most widely consumed items.

Turkey mine blast death toll rises to at least 40: minister

The death toll from a coal mine explosion in northern Turkey rose to at least 40 people Saturday, officials said. Desperate relatives had waited all night in the cold outside the state-owned TTK Amasra Muessese Mudurlugu mine in the town of Amasra, in the Black Sea coastal province of Bartin, hoping for news. There were 110 miners working in the shaft when the explosion occurred on Friday evening. Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said Saturday that 40 miners were confirmed dead. Eleven were injured and hospitalised, while 58 others managed to get out of the mine on their own or were rescued unharmed. The status of one remaining miner was unclear.

Kashmiri Pandit shot dead by militants in JK’s Shopian, reports PTI

A Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead by militants in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials said. Puran Krishan was attacked near his residence in the Chowdhary Gund area of south Kashmir district, they said, adding that doctors declared Krishan brought dead after he was shifted to Shopian hospital. The area has been cordoned off and a hunt has been launched to nab the assailants, they added.
