Police have been called to break up a second party in the Jindabyne area in just over a week, with nine people issued with infringement notices for public health non-compliance after a private party in East Jindabyne on Saturday night. About 11pm on Saturday, officers from Monaro Police District were called to a resort on Kosciuszko Road, East Jindabyne, following a noise complaint. Police went to a room where loud music was being played and discovered 27 people inside. Only eight were actually staying at the resort. Nine people at the party will be issued $1000 penalty infringement notices for non-compliance with COVID-19 public health orders and for exceeding the 20-person limit for gatherings. The remaining people inside the room were moved on after police took their details. On Friday, July 24, police were called to a bushland about two kilometres from Lake Jindabyne where they found between 150 and 200 people gathering at a dance party, with a large bonfire, lighting and amplified music set up. Attendees ran into the bush when they saw police. Police shut down the dance party and took details from those who were left behind.
