Yellowstone National Park rangers euthanized a new child bison calf after a customer touched the animal, attempting to assist it meet up with its herd, the National Park Service said on Tuesday.

The herd had been crossing the Lamar River on Saturday night when the calf obtained separated from its mom on the river financial institution, in keeping with a press launch from the company. A person observing the scene approached the animal with obvious rescue intentions.
