Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett talked to AFP and explained the process of his return to Tottenham, which seems sure to happen before the transfer deadline. Real Madrid and Tottenham will reportedly sign a loan deal.
“The deal is close but is not done yet, it’s a complicated negotiation. There’s a long way to go in certain aspects, but no doubt that Bale is closer to leave Real Madrid than what he’s been for the last seven years,” said Barnett.
The agent then talked to BBC Sport and confirmed that Bale has talked with Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho.
“Gareth has already talked with Jose and told him that Tottenham have a special place in his heart,” he added.
Madrid will try to find a way to force Tottenham to buy the player permanently, even if the transfer has to happen next summer. Meanwhile, the Spurs want Madrid to pay part of Bale’s salary.
If Bale is indeed willing to leave Madrid, expect an agreement between both clubs to happen.
