ananya panday ishaan khatter song beyonce sharma jaayegiBeyonce Sharma Jayegi is composed by Vishal-Shekhar.

The first song of Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer Khaali Peeli titled “Beyonce Sharma Jayegi” is out. The song, which the makers tag as an item number, is crooned by Nakash Aziz and Neeti Mohan, written by Kumaar and Raj Shekhar and composed by Vishal-Shekhar.

While the song is nothing to write home about, it is the choreography by Bosco Caesar that catches your attention. In the music video, Khatter is flawless and takes your breath away with his smooth moves, while Ananya manages to match his energy.

Post the release of “Beyonce Sharma Jayegi,” Twitter users took no time to point out that the Khaali Peeli track promotes racism. The Ishaan Khatter-Ananya Panday song has a line which goes thus: ‘Tujhe dekh ke goriya, Beyonce sharma jayegi’ which roughly translates to ‘Your fair skin will make Beyonce blush.’

@alreadyyonce wrote, “Beyoncé: includes a dark skinned south Asian in the brown skin girl mv to show how beautiful dark skin is. Bollywood: makes a song with blatant colorism saying that Beyoncé, a black woman, will be put to shame and be shy after seeing a white/fair skinned woman.”

Another Twitter user called Sonia Mariam Thomas mentioned in her tweet, “Beyoncé sharma jaayegi? Yes. Of second hand embarrassment.”

User Aakshi tweeted, “Beyoncé honey, we are so sorry.”

Lamenting Bollywood’s standard of music, user Nayeem Iqbal wrote on Twitter, “Bollywood hitting new levels of low after hitting rock bottom. Using obnoxious lyrics, skin color and comparing her with #Beyonce. Utter disappointment again.”

The comments section of “Beyonce Sharma Jayegi” on YouTube is also replete with criticism.

Khaali Peeli, directed by Maqbool Khan, marks the first collaboration of Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday.

Produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar and Zee Studios, the film will release exclusively on Zee Plex on October 2.
