Olympic gold medallist boxer and Congress chief Vijender Singh expressed ache and known as it a ‘black day’ within the historical past of sports activities after wrestler Sakshi Malik introduced retirement from wrestling after Brij Bhushan’s shut aide and loyalist was elected as the following Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief on Thursday.

While addressing a press convention on Friday, Vijender additionally stated that if this could occur to those that introduced medals to the nation, then what’s going to occur to the frequent individuals?

“Being a player, I can understand her pain. The only female medalist in wrestling demanded justice but she did not get it. Pained by this, she retired. The image of India in the whole world would increase or decrease? The whole sports industry is disappointed,” he told news agency ANI.

“The parents of the daughters would be concerned that if an Olympic medalist is not given justice, how will we get it? The PM, Vice President, and President all should come and answer why this happened… This raises a lot of questions on the justice system and the democratic structure,” he further said.

Vijender Singh also emphasised that everyone can easily count Olympic medals and winners in India on their fingers and despite this, they are subjected to this kind of atrocity. He further stated that the entire sports industry is upset with Sakshi’s retirement.

Soon after Singh was elected as the brand new WFI chief, Wrestler Sakshi Malik broke down and declared that she was quitting wrestling. “If Brij Bhushan Singh’s business partner and a close aide is elected as the president of WFI, I quit wrestling,” she stated.
