EU exports and imports many merchandise, and sporting goods are not any exception. EU imported €14.3 billion price of sporting items in 2022

In 2022, the EU’s whole worth of sporting items imports amounted to €14.3 billion, up 17.6% in contrast with 2021 (€12.2 billion). 

The three primary teams of imported sporting items accounted for nearly two-thirds (64.2%) of the worth of extra-EU imports. The ‘sports footwear’ class represented the best share of imports with 28.8% of all imported sporting items, adopted by ‘gymnastic, athletic and swimming equipment’ (25.9%). In third place was ‘bicycles’ (9.5%).

US and China: primary buying and selling companions

In 2022, when it comes to worth, the main extra-EU locations for exported sporting items had been the United States (24.5%), the United Kingdom (14.1%) and Switzerland (12.9%), which collectively accounted for greater than half (51.5%) of the entire worth of exports of sporting items.
