CAA Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Nov. 27

RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 27, 2023) – The CAA has introduced its girls’s basketball weekly awards following the third week of the 2023-24 season. Towson redshirt senior guard Kylie Kornegay-Lucas was named CAA Player of the Week, and Elon freshman guard Maraja Pass earned CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kylie Kornegay-Lucas, Towson
R-Senior | G | Camden, Del. / New Hope Academy
Kornegay-Lucas was named the Navy Classic MVP, main Towson to a 2-0 weekend with 17.0 factors, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and three.5 steals per sport. Against Abilene Christian, the redshirt senior paced Towson with 15 factors and 9 rebounds whereas including season-highs with six assists and 5 steals in a 63-56 victory for the Tigers. She adopted the efficiency by scoring a season-high 19 factors with a team-best 9 rebounds versus Quinnipiac, recording two steals and an help as TU defeated the Bobcats 75-65.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maraja Pass, Elon
Freshman | G | Shelby, N.C. / Winston Salem Christian School
Pass averaged 8.0 factors, 5.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per sport off the bench, serving to Elon to a cut up on the Georgia State Thanksgiving Tournament. She opened the event with eight factors, a season-best seven assists and 4 rebounds regardless of a slender setback in opposition to Bradley (66-59). The Phoenix bounced again with a 75-68 win over Georgia State on Thanksgiving, as Pass contributed eight factors, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and one steal.
