The Baltimore Ravens have always been a team that finds a plethora of great talent through drafting. They do a good job of not only drafting for need, but also selecting the best player available, which helps them build quality depth throughout their entire roster.

In his latest 2022 mock draft, Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports went through the entire first round, selecting a player at each pick. For Baltimore, Wilson decided to go with a mammoth offensive lineman at pick No. 24 in Daniel Faalele out of the University of Minnesota. When explaining his selection, Wilson explained that Faalele can make an impact in both the run and pass game.

“Faalele, who opted out last season, weighs in the 380-pound range but moves more like he is a hundred pounds lighter. Given the importance of the running game to the Ravens offense, adding an earth mover seems logical. Added bonus: Faalele is a solid pass protector, too.”

Faalele stands around 6-foot-9 and weighs around 380 pounds. He imposes his will in the run game and is a solid pass protector. As Wilson notes, he is also extremely light on his feet and has surprising agility and quickness for his size. However, he doesn’t have as much experience as others playing football (he’s a former rugby player), so he is a bit raw but has plenty of potential to grow.

Selecting an offensive lineman makes sense for the Ravens, especially a tackle considering that depth at the position as been a question mark in recent years. Faalele would be a great selection if he were to fall to Baltimore in the back-half of the first round.
