Awareness campaign would be conducted with the objective of bringing mass public awareness from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021 

 

In a bid to make people aware about their legal rights and laws, Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA) is going to launch legal awareness campaign titled ‘Jan Chetna’ on different laws across the state from September 1. Speaking to The Hitavada, Member Secretary of the CGSLSA Siddharth Aggarwal said that on the instructions of Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh and Patron-in-Chief of the CGSLSA P R Ramchandra Menon and Executive Chairman of the CGSLSA Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, the awareness campaign would be conducted with the objective of bringing mass public awareness from September 1 to August 31, 2021. Each District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has been allotted a separate subject under the special campaign.

 

The CGSLSA has directed all DLSAs of the state to prepare brief information about the law in the simple language of Hindi in the form of pamphlets. At least two or more of its judges can be identified as spokespersons under the guidance of the district judge, who is able to make videos in the e-platform and make it available to the audience. Judges identified under this campaign will be provided with the subjects, who can record videos in the allotted subject at Sampark Kranti Sahayata Kendra of the DLSA or any other suitable place, said Aggarwal. The videos in the above-allotted subject will be uploaded on the DLSA’s website. Apart from this, the recorded videos will be displayed on the Facebook page of the DLSA as well as broadcasted by the DLSA on its YouTube channel among the common people. The video recorded in the allotted subject will be sent to the Jila Panchayat with the request that it be digitally communicated to the common public in coordination with their subordinate appointed Sarpanch, Secretary, Employment Assistant, Mitaneen and other employees and will be disseminated amongst the community.

 

The recorded video will be transmitted to the District Education Officer with the request that he or she can disseminate the same through online education among the students in schools and colleges. The videos will be made available to the DLSA for publicity and broadcast among the people by running on available LED TV. Apart from this, videos all districts will be uploaded in separate folders by creating a YouTube channel at the SLSA level. Dissemination will also be done through “Nyay Mobile App” and other means. Similarly, videos will be promoted and broadcast on the Facebook page of the CGSLSA. Statistics regarding the number of views by people on the YouTube channel and Facebook page of the CGSLSA will be obtained from commuter programme.

 

The DLSA has been directed to prepare brief information about the laws on PPT on a maximum of two or three pages in respect of the allotted subject. The prepared PPT will be disseminated and broadcasted. The common people will be made aware about domestic violence act, Hamar Angna scheme, law related to ragging, environmental laws, electronic evidence in light of latest judgement of Supreme Court under Section 65B Evidence Act Maintenance Right of Parents including Senior Citizen Act 2007, custodial rights of arrest person including pre arrest, arrest and post arrest scheme of NLSA, law of probation and parole, Right to Privacy in India, crime against women, cyber crimes, law relating to divorce under Hindu, Muslim, Christian and Parsi law, ban on Gutka in light of provision of Food and Safety Standard Act 2006, Chhattisgarh Excise Act and other laws, the Member Secretary added.
